managed to ignore about 95% of the mushroom story, though yesterday talked about our obsession with whether or not guilty people appear or act guilty (horrible memories of the media trial of lindy chamberlain)
this morning as i ventured into common area for breakfast, abc breakfast news was going on about mushroom story some more and yes, there’s a massive double standard
it’s as if we need to believe we can tell who is capable of murder or evil, and who is not. otherwise, all those politicians we put our trust in might do something awful like, i dunno, preside over racist systems, criminalise homelessness, condone genocide, ignore poverty…
