Troy Duane Whisenant Jr. of Groves, Texas was identified as the suspect following an investigation launched on by the Groves Police Department, after the alleged victim told her mother she had been s*xually assaulted on two separate occasions. According to a probable cause affidavit, the alleged incidents occurred in March and April at a Groves residence.
When investigators approached Whisenant, he declined to give a statement without an attorney present.
Detectives determined there was sufficient probable cause to charge him with s*xual assault of a child — a second-degree felony in Texas.
Whisenant’s Facebook page is filled with attacks on Democrats, conspiratorial posts about COVID-19 safety measures, posts downplaying the January 6 insurrection, posts mocking transgender people, and posts supporting Donald Trump."

Reich-Wing Watch on Instagram: "🚨 A Gainesville, Florida neo-Confederate has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for distributing child s*xual abuse material online, according to Gainesville police.
Joshua Bryan, 39, received the sentence last week after being found in violation of probation. He had originally been arrested in June 2025 for sharing child pornography online.
This isn’t Bryan’s first offense — he previously served four years behind bars following a 2021 arrest on similar charges involving CSAM.
Bryan’s Facebook page is filled with treasonous Confederate flag imagery, which is closely associated with the white supremacist movement. The Confederacy was formed in 1861 primarily to preserve and expand the institution of slavery, as Southern states feared that Abraham Lincoln’s presidency threatened slaveholders’ economic and political power. Its founding documents, including Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens’ “Cornerstone Speech,” explicitly stated that slavery and the belief in white supremacy were the foundation upon which the Confederacy was built."
