Savannah After Midnight

The enslaved souls whose grief still lingers in the mortar and timber, woven into the foundations of beauty built at a terrible cost. History is not buried here. It breathes. Layer upon layer, like sediment at the bottom of a dark river.

And yes. I WILL take the train from Amsterdam to Malaga via a stop and hotel in Barcelona next year. For me it's a no brainer.

No plane. Just public transport.
I have traveled to Barcelona before by train. Malaga only needs a train to Madrid and one layover to #Malaga

How will you be travelling?

The Mischief Maker at The Bootlegger

That is when we passed a place called “The Bootlegger”. I had noticed it earlier in the day and taken several photographs. Something about it intrigued me. The weathered brick. The heavy wooden doors. The feeling that the building itself had witnessed more than it cared to tell. When Rob suggested we go inside, I hesitated.

The Joy Between the Storms….

Sometimes it feels like happiness arrives only long enough to remind me what I'm missing. And yet... Despite the fire ant. Despite the broken toes. Despite the cane. Despite crying when it was time to leave because the trip was over almost as soon as it began... There were still moments. A sunrise over the dunes. The sound of the ocean calling me into her waves. Walking hand in hand with Rob through streets older than most of our country.

Mie Storie – My Story

Mie Storie. Meaning My Story.

https://miestorie.com/

This is a place where you can share your story. Through photos and articles, long or short.

I grew tired of most social media apps being cluttered with absolutely everything.

I’ve been sharing photos and writing articles on my website for many years, and I thought it would be amazing if someone made a simple app like that where everyone can do the same.

So instead of waiting for someone else to do it, I tried it myself.

It’s a working progress. Most of the app works as it should.

There are no likes because I find them too easy and superficial.

It’s all about the conversation.

If you like someone’s photo. Tell them.

If you like something someone wrote, let them know.

If you appreciate what someone said about your photo, give them a sincere reply.

There might still be a bug here and there, and I am working hard to make sure everything runs smoothly.

But for now, I hope all of you enjoy this website and app!

I enjoy discovering new and interesting blogs. Michael Wood's (via Bluesky
@michaelwood8.bsky.social) blog documents his travels around China by bike and foot, following in the footsteps of explorer Joseph Rock. Gives a real insight into the fascinating Chinese interior and backcountry.
