And what those posts were really about was putting off the moment where I have to do this – put details of all my New Zealand receipts into a spreadsheet, then stick them into an envelope for my filing cabinet. Done now!
The other thing I have to do on return, is place all the documents I've collected from the completed trip in a cardboard wallet like this. There's a whole row of these from past trips on the top shelf of one of my bookshelves, looking a bit battered.
Doing "published story" admin, now I'm back from NZ. Since I started travel writing in 2004 I've cut out copies of my print articles in plastic sleeves like this (not sure why really, other than as souvenirs):
