I watched the first episode of Travel Season, which is one of the "new" series from Watcher (yes THAT Watcher). It's supposed to essentially be Worth It, which was a Youtube show that I actually really enjoyed.

So I went into Travel Season expecting it to be exactly like Worth It, which it isn't, unfortunately.

The episode is almost a textbook example of the whole Watcher controversy. What I enjoyed as a low-key food and travel series turned into...something devoid of charm and soul.

The show had voiceovers, which were never a huge part of the original. The slick production values were on display but it was missing a huge part of the charm.

And also WHERE WAS ADAM??? He was touted as being a part of the show but he was never on-camera. Some of the best bits of Worth It was the banter between Steven, Andrew, AND Adam. And I missed that.

I will say that the episode was enough to convince me to NOT subscribe to Watcher's streaming platform. It's just not the same.
