It was a quiet and calm sunset. The colors were amazing, totally unexpected. Our house was in a middle of a field, so we could see all mountains around us. The pink sky behind this one was just astonishing.

After six weeks, we’re back at the hotel where we spent our first night in New Zealand.
I miss my little one, but otherwise—I don’t want to leave.
Tomorrow, the 35-hour journey home begins.
Photos from our arrival in Wellington and today’s ferry ride through the Marlborough Sounds.

Yesterday i did Hooker Valley (who invented the name?) track by Mt. Cook. Perfect! Spectacular! Although crowded.

After 3 days without WiFi and sometimes even without data in northern part of South Island of New Zealand, I am back and have posted blog posts about visiting Wharariki beach and Abel Tasman national park. Great weekend trip!

NZ

I am writing this blog post while sitting in the car next to my beloved, on the winding road from Abel Tasman National Park to Picton. I sit here, relieved that my beloved is still speaking to me –...

Today was a rainy day. A bit chilly.
I worked a little in the morning, then spent some time reading a novel. In the afternoon, we went to the gym, where we ran into a gentleman my partner insists we’ve met multiple times already. He was chatting with me in a friendly, enthusiastic manner, but I didn’t understand a word—so I just pretended to be listening to music while running next to him on the treadmill.

Day of #remotework From #picton in #newzealand.
While my boyfriend did most of the work (i had only one court case to attend to), I went for a short hike overlooking the town and Marlborough sounds. Nice hour-and-a-half walk, nice views.

Good morning from tomorrow! Up early for the ferry.

Biggest disappointment: all cafés are closed on a Sunday morning. They’ll open on Monday. Apparently, coffee isn’t a Sunday right. Oh well, McDonald’s is open—where a nearly naked Māori man is trying to convince us to buy him a coffee. Meanwhile, a slightly clueless, slow-moving girl is struggling with our order.

Hello from Wellington, NZ! ✨

Flights went smoothly (with a few small adventures, but all ended well). Now strolling through the city, and so far, it’s giving me a nice San Francisco vibe—hilly streets, a friendly atmosphere, and bustling cafés (it is Saturday, after all).

First cocktail at a street café. First oysters and ceviche at a highly praised seafood spot. First sip of Sauvignon Blanc.
