Hi! It's going to be my #introduction as I never made one on my previous instance.

I'm a 28 y/o woman raised in the Polish countryside, hated it. Live in #Krakow. Lefty but not feeling educated enough on everything. I adore cats, especially voids. Comfortable communicating in English, Polish, Swedish and French. Into #linguistics, had to write a master's on #translatology. Can write in #Python a bit but I'm stuck in a dead-end non-IT job. Can't function without music.

Today I'm working on a short bio of #JamesLegge, missionary, nineteenth-century #translator of the Chinese Classics, and first Professor of Chinese at Oxford. Part of my ongoing project 19th Century Chinese-English Translator Networks. #TranslationStudies #Translatology #ChineseStudies #China
Fun fact: he got the job at Oxford by donating his Chinese collection to the Bodleian library.

@CzuloOliver @translatianlogy I would likely also point to Holmes. I suppose I think of other fields - like Social Media Studies or Platform Studies - wouldn't see (I think?) platformology...granted, I know en français we talk about médiologie, but that has specific connotations well. #Translation #translatology #TranslationStudies

@CzuloOliver Using #TranslationStudies as much as I can to index #translation #research content. (Personally and professionally think #Translation and #TranslationStudies have more traction than #translatology).
