Installing Bazzite to my friend: Yay!
The Finnish translations clearly being autogenerated (slop tier): Not yay!
I gotta be honest, I'd rather have text just left in English if you can't translate it.
"Password" was translated to different word in same page of the installer. Both were completely wrong.
Then there were words that made no sense: the context was in English but it was very literally translated, so it kept the English context but with Finnish words.
Look I know this is volunteer work but please just don't run your translations through google translate or whatever, because the quality was very much that. Just keep it in English if you don't know how to translate it, a lot of Finns speak English anyway. These complex wrong translations will just confuse users, even seasoned ones like me!

One of the most hilariously bad translations has actually been the German translation of the game "Don't Starve" back then. (I think it's fixed now).
Examples:
- Chest (the thing you put things and gold and such into) was translated to the word for Chest (breast)
But even more hilarious:
- Log, as in, wood log, after chopping down a tree
Was translated into...wait for it...
"Verarbeitungsprotokoll" which means... "processing protocol" so, a "log file", as in tech.
YES, you chopped trees and got an item with SUUUUUUUUUUUCH a long name, and then built stuff from log files. 😅
For years, translations in open-source projects like #Plone and its add-on ecosystem has been a huge problem regarding completeness and inconsistencies. These days, it just a matter of minutes of update translations across a dozen languages in minutes using AI - in most cases providing a more consistent and better result than with human translators.
