Republicans Push FBI To Designate Trans Advocacy As Violent Extremism. Inside The Project 2025 Organization's Proposal.
On Thursday evening, news emerged that individuals within and outside of Trump administration were pushing to cast trans activists as domestic terrorists. Then, Project 2025 dropped its proposal.
On Thursday evening, independent journalist Ken Klippenstein reported that the FBI is developing tools to identify transgender suspects and classify them as “nihilistic violent extremists.” Within hours, the Oversight Project at the Heritage Foundation—the same outfit driving Project 2025’s blueprint now being implemented inside the federal government—released a four-page memo urging the bureau to go even further. Its proposal: formally designate all transgender activism as “Trans Ideology-Inspired Violent Extremism,” a new category of domestic terror threat. It’s important to note that the Heritage Foundation is not itself the federal government, and to our knowledge, its proposals are not yet in place. But the group’s influence is vast, especially in the wake of a Trump administration openly committed to implementing Project 2025. That makes its latest push far more than just a think-tank memo—it’s a roadmap for policy. Here’s what you need to know about the proposal.

What the german ministry of interior is planning right now, reminds us of the 1920s. Back then, they had databases, so-called pink lists, where homosexuals were tracked.
After they came to power, the Nazis used this data to put queer people into concentration camps, made possible by the police work of the democratic Weimar Republic. This is why collecting this kind of data is so dangerous.

Ken Paxton and other Republican officials can access your prescription records without a warrant and use it to target you and your healthcare as he's done with gender affirming care.

...the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program ("PDMP"). The database enabling this crackdown was never billed as a tool for political persecution. PDMP's were originally established in the 2000s to combat the opioid epidemic and “doctor shopping” for narcotics. Every U.S. state and territory now maintains a PDMP – an electronic registry of controlled substance prescriptions, typically Schedules II through V, that doctors and pharmacies are required to report.
...there is no requirement to obtain a judicial warrant for law enforcement to access the PDMP.
Given how much more prevalent hormone prescriptions are among the cisgender population, any attempt to police and surveil transgender people's prescriptions will inevitably catch orders of magnitude more cis people in the surveillance dragnet. But that's entirely the intention. In this situation, it's become explicitly clear that transgender people are a mere pretext to enable a mass surveillance system to gain control over everyone's bodies and what prescriptions they are able to take. Ken Paxton and his cronies can access your prescription records, even if you don't live in Texas. It's a system so ripe for abuse, that it ultimately must be dismantled.
The classic meme around the torment nexus feels applicable in this situation. They see creating a surveillance state as a positive rather than a negative and don't care about the repercussions because it allows them to gain control over people they see as undesirable. Unfortunately, once you create the torment nexus, it will eventually come for us all.
