~5 mg (~0.10 mL; 50 mg/mL concentration) estradiol enanthate injected intramuscularly into the vastus lateralis in our right thigh using our Union Medico auto-stabber and a 25 mm 25G TotalDose low dead space needle 💉

Pretty sure we hit near a nerve on the way in, but that's why we have the auto-stabber: it doesn't care and doesn't stop 😅

Tiny bit of blood on the way out, even after releasing the Z-track hold with the other hand, but definitely not a bleeder like last week.

Taking a 'pam a few hours back certainly definitely helped 😏🤭

These two focus groups are to help us develop a new education course to improve sensitive communication with trans patients using role play scenarios. This will be rolled out to medical students at Queen Mary University of London and doctors at Barts Health NHS Trust. Who can take part? We are looking to recruit six people who: Identify as transgender or gender diverse Are aged 18 or over Have experience using NHS services What taking part involves Two online focus groups, each lasting 2 hours Sessions will take place in the evening The focus groups will run in February and March We are ideally looking for participants who are able to attend both sessions, to help with continuity If you have any questions, please email us at: transhealthsimulation@gmail.com This project is supported by the Queen Mary Centre for Public Engagement

Had a perfect stab with no pain or even discomfort. However, the moment we pulled the needle out, whooooooooooosh with the blood!

This is a really good reminder that even when you've been literally doing injections for years, you can and will sometimes get a bleeder.

It's why it's recommended to always have something on hand to stop the bleeding, as it'll quickly stop (barring you having issues with clotting or taking certain meds).

And always have your medical plaster (aka bandaid) ready to go 🩹

Now we're thinking of the Republica song of that name lol 🤭

Per usual, used the IM method we learnt from the Plume guide. Got a perfect spot tonight: no pain going in or out, despite us being emotionally and mentally exhausted. Teeny spot o' blood, but quickly wiped and covered with a medical plaster.

Did it to this EP by Mekaloton.

No joy out of doing the injection tonight though. No euphoria. Just... nothing.
