since i just read that today is the 50th anniversary of kraftwerk's autobahn i had to remember how much their music and their technopositivism represent old futures. Space-Lab or Mensch-Maschine are futures long gone. Electric Cafe sounds curiously antiquated.

and so is autobahn. the old paradigm of freedom and mobility is superseded and replaced by klimate change, traffic congestion and environmental harm.

but kraftwerk are versatile. they also made some songs about future transports, even though the source for this song is also long gone ... but it might come back.

Die Deutsche Bahn gibt selbst auf den letzten Metern noch mal wirklich alles. "Aufgrund einer technischen Störung entfällt der Halt in Berlin Hauptbahnhof, der Zug wird nach Berlin Gesundbrunnen umgeleitet und endet dort." #TransEuropaExpress

Erstmal fast eine Stunde lang in Bad Bentheim den Zug mehrfach rebooten, weil ein Brems-Prüfprotokoll beim Übergang zwischen den inkompatiblen Bahnsystemen nicht korrekt war. Ausser depressivem Fatalismus bleibt einem im Gebiet der Deutschen Bahn nix. ´#TransEuropaExpress

Irgendwie überrascht es mich nicht besonders, dass das erste signifikante Problem beim #TransEuropaExpress-Experiment mit der Deutschen Bahn auftritt. Ich war eher etwas erstaunt, dass der Hinweg von Berlin über München nach Innsbruck so problemlos war.
