A trans person in the UK woke up yesterday with fewer rights than a year ago. The EHRC published its draft Code of Practice and told every trans person in Britain they may be lawfully excluded from gender-specific spaces — the proper accommodation being a third, gender-neutral facility service providers can be sued for failing to build. A separate door. A separate sink. A separate category of human. This is not compromise. It is segregation in inclusion drag, and any hospitality worker asked to judge which body belongs in which room is conscripted into policing genitals. Hospitality venues are not border checkpoints. Majority of trans people avoid going to GP over transphobia fears

Pink News article on recent TransActual report:

“Ninety-seven per cent of the trans UK public reported dealing with GPs that have little or no knowledge on trans issues, while nearly three quarters have reported avoiding their GP over fears of discrimination.

Of those who had faced issues with their GPs, 60 per cent had been refused non-transition related care because of their gender identity.”
