By the way, if you're looking for a train simulator recommendation, look no further than Derailed Valley!
Check out Hyce's youtube page for further details. Hyce is a train museum steam train operator.
If I upgraded my graphics card to a 4070 or something, my desktop could run it off steam (I think). At least I could experiment with Fedora, Steam and Derailed Valley recs.

does anyone here play train sim classic? i have a scenario i made and i need people to test it
The scenario is based on the real life freight run operated by GBRf from North Blyth (near Newcastle) to Fort William. The route specifically goes from East of Glasgow (Cowlairs West Junction) and in two parts goes from there to Fort William.
if needed, i can even provide the dlc needed for the route, but for reference, the following DLCs are required:
West Highland Line (South)
West Highland Line Extension
AP Class 66 EP 2.0 Volume 1
AP Class 156 Pack
AP Class 318 Pack
AP Signal EP
Please boost for extra spread!
I spent the past few days abroad as I had to attend some family business. We went by #train (german ICE bullet train) and being somewhat of a #trainnerd this sparked a renewed interest in #trainsimulator software that will run on #Linux using #WINE.
Aside from #Zusi3 which is a professional simulator also being used in training centers in germany, there is oldie-but-goldie #MSTS (Microsoft Train Simulator) released in 2001 (!)
Yes, this was 24 years ago but still, a lot of #railsim fans here in europe consider it one of the best of its kind and third party patches have been released over the decades to keep it up to date with modern hardware and to iron out some longtime bugs.
However, there is also an alternative to that called #OpenRails which is an open-source remake of MSTS able to run commercial and free content originally designed for MSTS. I installed it using #WINE and #PlayOnLinux on my #VoidLinux box to check out how it performs. Note that I had to use winetricks to install .net 4.7.2 and xna3.1!!
So here are a few screenshots of Open Rails running the commercial "RhB Bernina" Content I bought decades ago.
Le guide officiel #JREast #TrainSimulator (en japonais) est également sorti et est disponible en version papier ou numérique pour 2750Y.
