The trails put on their finest to welcome me back after a week off for post race recovery. I have 20 weeks of training plans pinned on the wall. Off season training means shorter distances and more yoga. I am training for some "wish list runs" with a ~ 35km run in about ten weeks (from the bottom of Gatineau Park to the top) and a snowshoe marathon in 20 weeks along the Great Trail (Trans Canada Trail). Still sussing out ultras for next year. Legs felt good today though my knees were cold in shorts. As an extra special bonus, pup is now big enough to start training to run together and we had her first session during her walk today! Happy trails all round!

Back home in central #France bracing ourselves in the chilly weather and catching up on lots of little jobs. We had a fun (hilly) 12k trail race last weekend, and wifey won a prize for first in age group - always good to get some goodies! I think we'll have to enter a few more weekend #trailruns now...

We have been back in the UK visiting friends and family for Christmas, but managed to sneak away for a visit to #Whitby for New Year and beyond. We've loved exploring this historic town, the Yorkshire Moors and the villages scattered along this wild stretch of coast. Long country walks, tough coastal #trailruns and many warm, inviting pubs to rest in - what's not to love?
