#ThreeGoodThings

Here it is!

1. We have a new addition to the family! I thought she had been looking a little round in a previous couple of videos. Isn't this the cutest thing?

2. CRA decided they had underpaid us for GST rebate for 2024 and deposited the balance. Hooray!

3. First Johnny Jump Up (tiny wild violet) of the year in the garden. And I went out with my camera and photographed it!

I plan to get out for a quick bike ride later, but this is already a good day!

Have a great weekend, friends!

In case you wondered how raccoons cross #PorcupineBridge. 😂

Momma cat and her latest litter hadn’t shown back up since Sunday morning. They all returned very early this morning — six days later — and then they went away again. The mom has been a regular visitor, but without the kids.

Secret video footage of my new landscaper. Didn’t have the best references but I like her eye for aesthetics. 🤭

I don’t get many recordings of bobcats during daylight. This looks like a younger one headed in the direction of my house.

P. S. #ProjectRattlecam just added a new livestream from a timber rattlesnake rookery in Pennsylvania, alongside the ones from Colorado and California! The livestreams are here: https://youtube.com/@projectrattlecam/streams

Project RattleCam

We are excited to share the first ever livestream of a rattlesnake rookery, or communal birthing site. This technology allows people from around the world to watch rattlesnakes in real time and scientists to study their behaviors without disturbing them. Sometimes you will see no snakes because they are hiding in the crevices, and sometimes you will see them coiled up or passing through. When will the first pups be born? We are excited to find out with you. We hope that you will follow us on social media and alert us to interesting behaviors by tweeting @RattleCams with the date, time, and description, or by emailing us at [email protected]. Find out more about Project RattleCam, including how you can get involved as a community scientist, at our website rattlecam.org.
