Yes there has been a reaction from the civil society NGOs, among them the European Transport Safety Council #ETSC, #FEVR - European Federation of #Road #TrafficVictims, #CleanCitiesCampaign,
International Federation of #Pedestrians and #ECF - European #Cyclists’ Federation.

EU response is unclear so far.

(It is not unlikely that you are a member of some national NGO which is in turn a member of one of those, btw)
