How they make it hard to fix this heater - videos.trom.tf/w/krjeSgmcz3HD6…

These motherfuckers put some weird screws on this electrical heater so you cannot open it unless you have a very specific screw driver. Absolutely criminal behavior. But I understand it. You have to trade in this world in order to survive and thrive, and so these tactics can create advantages for you: the heater breaks, people buy a new one. Done. More profit.

If we can't change the incentive we cannot change these behaviors.

RE: videos.trom.tf/videos/watch/9d…

Very good video from Veritasium about that big backdoor issue on Linux recently:

Of course this is an issue with our trade based society 100%. How? Easy:

  • The incentive to do harm in this society is quite high. For profit, for power that also leads to profit, for the fact that tribes and people are divided into groups trying to outgame the other groups. Like Iran has an incentive to hack USA, USA has an incentive to hack China, Russia has an incentive to hack the EU, and so forth. They can get sensitive information, blackmail, etc.. This is a global situation that has trade (as a practice) as the director of motives. Making people do what they do. Tribes hold onto their own resources, exploit other tribes, etc.. And so fighting with each other is natural.
  • If we lived in a society where trading was not a necessity and provided for all equally, we would have no reason to have tribes with borders, exploit other tribes, fight against each other when we are all in fact a big tribe, the human tribe.

  • The people working on a lot of open source software struggle to work on it since they also have "day jobs". They have to TRADE to survive. Imagine people had access to their basic needs trade-free, via an UBI or whatever. More time to focus on creating secure and better software, more people who can do that. Less of those incentivized to do harm and insert backdoors.
  • Overall it is a cancerous trade society where humans are livestock and wolves. Consuming and being consumed.

The only sane way out of it is to HELP PEOPLE DETACH FROM THE TRADE SOCIETY. So they can be people and focus on RELEVANT STUFF.

Else it is a game of those who want to exploit and those who try to stop them. Endless....

The Internet Was Weeks Away From Disaster and No One Knew

    Trade-Free

Largest study of its kind shows AI assistants misrepresent news content 45% of the time – regardless of language or territory

    (source)

For trade reasons the Internet has become a marketplace (trade currency, attention, data). Therefore monopolies have formed, owning and controlling search, major platforms, and apps.

On the other had the other marketers want their websites/content to rank higher, to get more views, show more ads, make more money. So shitty websites and content for the sake of that.

Thus the Internet is a load of poop nowadays. Hard to find what you are looking for.

So now these monopolies are inserting these AI chatbots into search. They seem very convenient for people. Go straight to an answer. And the monopolies do not care that these chatbots lie a lot.

    Happy business everyone!

Trade is the root of most problems. As I've been saying for many years now.

Implosion: The Titanic Sub Disaster - videoneat.com/documentaries/26…

This is the perfect example of why in this trade-based society things get fucked. Because people are focused on trading, making a profit. And these idiots did just that. Cut corners, then cut their lives short and of those who paid for their scam.

Tragic. But a very important example of how #TradeRuinsEverything

Extinction Rebellion may have gone quiet, but climate protest will come roaring back | Oliver Haynes - theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Yes....I noticed that too. You know there were many loud people and projects for the past decade or so. Some protesting, some proposing radical alternatives to this so called "capitalist" society. Meaning this trade-based society. They are all kinda gone now...

I am one of them. Since 2011 I scream and scream and scream. And do all sorts of projects.

But the truth is that we are like trying to grow a crop in the middle of Times Square. There is no fertile soil, only concrete and people trying to stop you doing it.

There is no help for me to create and maintain the so many projects I do. There is no support for the so many good-willing people out there who want to protect nature, do good deeds, amazing projects, open source, and so on. NOTHING.

We have to fend for ourselves - to find ways to trade and stay alive, while doing these things. There is no way forward like that.

    We are bound to perish.

I keep on surviving, surprisingly enough, with more projects than I started in 2011. But my reach is hundreds of times less than it was in 2011. I have to trade at times to make some money, I have to stress over not having enough to make it, I have to do a ton of work that should be done by 10 people normally.

The financial support is bleeding out, the interest I feel is not even present that much.

It all sounds very pessimistic but it is the truth. However I am still not giving up. I have new ideas and approaches.

And I know there are MANY MANY people out there who still keep the flame of revolting and activism alive, and all they need is a bit of fertile soil to thrive. But to get that fertile soil, the help, is really hard. And perhaps that is where the focus should be.

Maybe TROM will start to focus on that bit...

    Will see.

If you are one of us, don't despair. You are for sure not alone. Maybe new projects and forms of activism will arise out of the stagnant frustration and anger that so many have layered within.

A system in which its members cannot even have the time and means to protest or propose/work on alternatives, is an abusive system. It only wants for "it" to survive, as it is the only way for its members to stay afloat. Therefore humans have to trade in the trade system, to survive. That is the forced incentive. Anything else can only temporarily survive.

The trade game has to go.

    STEPS:

  • Provide the basic needs as trade-free: healthcare, education, communication, food, shelter, etc..
  • Provide a Universal Basic Income to everyone, no strings attached.
  • This is how we allow people to focus on what they see as important. To have time to get informed and inform others. To get involved, to help, to thrive.

    Nothing else will work!

    FIRST: HELP THE PEOPLE!

Want the best proof that this trade-based society needs to change and cannot be "fixed"?

Global recycling rates have fallen for eighth year running, report finds - theguardian.com/environment/20…

Only 6.9% of the 106bn tonnes of materials used annually by the global economy came from recycled sources, a 2.2 percentage point drop since 2015, researchers from the Circle Economy thinktank found.

The problem is systemic, they say: the rise in consumption is even more rapid than the growth in global population, and although some companies are increasing the amount of recycled material they use, the majority ignore the issue with no apparent penalties. This means that societies generate more waste than recycling systems can handle.

Even if all recyclable goods were recycled, which is unlikely as many goods are simply too difficult or costly to recycle, global recycling rates would only reach 25%, meaning that consumption must be slashed in order to tackle a growing global waste crisis.

Yah....so recycling is not not solution let us be serious.

    The solution?

People and the society needs to change radically but in simple steps.

    1. Make the basic needs trade-free. Healthcare, transportation, housing if possible, access to Internet, basic food, etc.. Do it via taxes or whatever you prefer.

    2. Give people a Universal Basic Income without strings attached so when some essential service cannot be provided as trade-free, such as housing or food, people can still "trade" for it. You can get the money for this UBI again via taxes, via ending all sorts of unemployment and benefits programs, and so forth.

This way you can have a chance of creating a society where people are not consumers, but humans. So that these humans have the time and mental ability to focus on relevant stuff and not just consume. To volunteer, discover, create, become smarter and saner.

    This is the way!
