DG TAXUD is pleased to announce the release of the revised administrative guidelines for the Binding Tariff Information process.

Iceland’s ambassador #EinarGunnarsson, who chairs the #WTO #FisheriesSubsidies negotiations, said today that he has detected “a real sense of urgency” among WTO members to conclude the talks’ “second wave” by the end of the year.

But if WTO members genuinely want the 2022 agreement to take effect by the next Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi, Feb 2024, they have a real race on their hands.

They’ll have to be faster than with the #TradeFacilitation Agreement.

Gabon formally accepts Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies

Gabon deposited its instrument of acceptance for the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies on 12 July, making it the third African country to do so. Ambassador Mireille Sarah Nzenze presented Gabon’s instrument of acceptance to Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. More than one-third of the acceptances needed for the agreement to enter into force is now in hand.
