Trabant-Friedhof bei Zwickau

Mehrere Fahrzeuge stehen ordentlich in Reihe, als wäre gleich jemand zurück. Ist nur schon länger her. Zwischen Rost, Stillstand und überwucherten Details entsteht eine ruhige, fast beiläufige Geschichte darüber, was bleibt – und was einfach weitergeht.

Its been 20 years since I lost my #trabant to an accident but i still miss its #twostroke glory. It was so much fun to drive and tinker with.

#throwbackthursday as these #trabant cars have become rare on the streets of #Berlin, especially compared to 30+ years ago. A few keep running, but owners I guess keep running out of sources to draw replacement parts from

Today, 15 years ago I moved here. There is a story behind, of course: I lived in Malmö and had no plans to do otherwise. The morning of Jan 11 2011 one of my neighbours, a mentally ill addict, decided that I should die. He tried to kick the door down whilst shouting and threatening me. He came back later, around noon, and tried again.
I managed to escape and then spent six weeks on a friend's floor. I needed a new home urgently and Landskrona was cheap and with lots of available apartments. And here I am.

Why did he want to kill me, you may ask. I have no idea. I had never talked to him. He died some 10 years ago in a freak accident. Him and 2 others died of carbon monoxide poisoning due to a badly handled fireplace. They were too drunk to notice.
Did I call the police? No. No good would have come of that, and also... police. I'm still traumatized by this.

I like my little apartment, i mean; all my stuff is here, but #Landskrona will never be home. It's a pretty little town, but "home" is #Malmö, and always will be. I don't want to die here. I might, but I don't want to. I cannot afford to move. Moving costs - something ppl don't seem to understand, and I have no network that can help me pack, clean, carry and move stuff so I would have to pay for all those services... which I can't.

So here we are.... Me and my stuff...
