Hype for the Future 153K: City of Memphis, Tennessee

Introduction Within the State of Tennessee, the City of Memphis serves as the largest city within the Grand Division of West Tennessee, though many of the administrative services of West Tennessee are located in the City of Jackson to the east-northeast. Hype for the Future 87Q: Canadian Tourism

Introduction While Canada is a significantly smaller nation than the United States by raw population counts, Canadian tourist attractions, where such sites exist, are often set up relatively similar to tourist attractions in the United States, except that the attractions in much of Canada are largely more attuned to British influence as Canada was British more recently than the United States was. Tourist Destinations The numerous national parks in Western Canada, particularly Banff and […]

Hype for the Future 49L: Japan on Google Maps

Unlike most countries worldwide, Japan is often depicted on Google Maps with unique symbolism, such as three dots representing a culturally and/or historically significant point of interest. Additional symbols unique to Japan include museum symbols as well as nearly all other types of symbols in purple on the map.

#SF #TouristAttractions

The #SFChronicle is doing a poll of how many SF Tourist Attractions you have or haven't visited. Native San Franciscans & Migrants (anyone who isn't a Native San Franciscan) can participate.

Out of the 12 mentioned the only one that I haven't done is a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Reason: Too long of a walk.

The view from either end of the bridge is good enough for me. I've done both -- parked at the north & south ends to look at the views -- many times.

I've often looked at the bridge while laying on the nudist end of Baker's Beach & from the top of the hill going towards Pt. Lobos -- the view often used in TV commercials.

I've also viewed the bridge from a far & below on a Red & White bay ferry cruise. & on trips to Sausalito.

And, of course, I've often seen the bridge & The City exiting the Robbin Williams tunnel going towards the bridge is one of the most breathtaking views in the world.

You can take the poll here if you're interested:

Selfies and Red Phone Boxes at Edinburgh Castle

When you walk in the first gates of Edinburgh Castle you’ll spot two iconic red telephone boxes. I was delighted to see a father and daughter posing for a selfie which made for a nice candid photo. 🙂

Did you know that iconic red telephone box was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott?
