Karina and Terence’s in-home maternity session in Toronto was the kind of session that reminds us why we love documenting people in a natural and honest way.

There was nothing rushed or overcomplicated about it. Just a quiet afternoon at home, soft light, a peaceful atmosphere, and two people enjoying this very special chapter of their lives before welcoming their first baby.

What made this session so beautiful was how real it felt. No pressure to perform, no need to turn it into something bigger than it already was. Sometimes the most meaningful photographs come from simply slowing down and allowing people to be themselves.

Karina and Terence were relaxed, affectionate, and completely present with each other. Their dog stayed close by throughout the session, which made everything feel even more personal and true to this season of their life. These little details always matter. They become part of the memory.

We also photographed Karina and Terence last year for their anniversary session, so being invited back to document this next chapter meant a lot to us. First, we photographed their relationship as it was. Now, we had the honour of capturing the beginning of their family story.

That continuity is one of the most meaningful parts of this work. It is never just about one photoshoot. It is about preserving chapters of life as they unfold.

In-home maternity sessions like this one will always have a special place in our hearts. They feel intimate, calm, and deeply personal. And years from now, we believe these photographs will bring back not only how this moment looked, but how it felt.
