Dear Rishi Sunak,
Should we reduce VAT on food, toiletries and energy so that British citizens can “aspire” to climb out of food, hygiene and energy poverty?
I aspire to send my children to private school…
I just need to have money left over after paying my:
🏠Tory mini budget boosted mortgage
💡Tory subsidised profiteering energy bills
🥗 Tory Brexit boosted grocery costs
I guess my parents weren’t “aspirational” enough to send me to a £45k per year private school…? 🤨

"This is absolutely heartbreaking. How can this be happening in 2022?"

A misty start to the day in the city of York. Tories loving the England football team atm. Keeping them and their sleaze off the front pages for a few days but don't worry, they'll be back with a vengeance very soon
Food banks are not uplifting.
Food banks are a failure of government.
The Trussell Trust have given out 1.3 million emergency food parcels in the last 6 months.
85% of UK adults believe that ensuring everyone has enough money for essentials should be a priority for the UK government.
Unfortunately, as people choose between heating and eating, this is not a priority for Tories.
