The armchair engineers at Coasterbuzz (who usually end up being right) suspect it's in part because of a different center of mass on the new Zamperla trains.
Comparing videos from the old Intamin trains on the original ride to videos of the new version there seems to be more "roll" on the trains, which suggests that at very least the seats are higher from the track.
Observations of sensors placed on one of the trains being used in test runs seem to indicate they're testing stress on the chassis of the trains, possibly meaning there were cracks either forming or potentially forming.
Best of luck to Cedar Point and Zamperla while they try to make this cursed penis-shaped thrill ride work. I swear, the site of that ride must be the site of some horrible ancient battle or something because the spirits seem big mad about anything there actually working right.

Pretty sure at this point, Cedar Point extended their season just so they could maybe get TTD2 open for at least a second week this year.

Cedar Fair, and especially Cedar Point, are the most instrumental part of making me so glad that Hersheypark is my home park. I know people have their complaints but nothing is greater than being able to go to a park and not be nickel and dimed over things such as "rider safety".
Cedar Point should be ashamed of themselves.
