@krutonium Obviously there are multiple reasons to not wanting to deal with #LiCo cells...
IMHO the only devices that should have #batteries are those that are supposed to be used on the go or need a #BBU, like #Smartphones and #Laptops.
- And those should be mandated to be #ToolfreeSwappable as in #HotSwappable on the go without restarting!
Or is it too much to ask to get a #smol #smartphone that has:
- 3,5mm TRRS jack (CTIA prefered, but NATO standard is also okay!)
- #microSD slot (cuz convenient - ideally the internal storage was also on a microSD and fully replaceable. I don't expect socketed RAM tho.
- real #DualSIM ( #eSIM is not a valid substitute for a 2nd #SIM slot! If an OEM want they can just include 1-2 #eSIMcard|s thst are progammable with #nLPA / #MiniLPA in addition to two fully-functional SIM slots…)
- #ToolfreeSwappableBatteries (ideally just industry-standard cells like 18650 or 21700 #LiFePO4 - potentially even 2 for #HotSwapping!)

@aki @foone Personally there are various reasons to want real [=physical] #DualSIM, ranging from cheaper #Roaming to wanting to carry ony one device to being able to utilize more than one network for redundancy or having multiple non-#VoIP numbers…
- Either way there's no legitimate reason not to have dual-#SIM, #microSD & #ToolfreeSwappableBatteries because that doesn't reduce protection (see #GalaxyS5) and is way more sleek.
