#ToolOfTheDay USB ammeters (especially for USB type C) are super handy, but a number of models ONLY work when USB power delivery protocol is being used (so they appear to be broken when only plugged in at one end, when plugged into a charge-only cable, or prior to completing PD negotiation). This¹ ² one is not so cheap as many but works with all kinds of power sources.

#ToolOfTheDay This¹² portable USB toolkit will get you out of many a connectivity problem. Unlike so many other adaptors, its iPhone lighting plug is really reliable, it's the only cable I have that 100% reliably charges my elderly and banged-up iPhone. #ToolOfTheDay this serrated box cutter cuts tape and cardboard without accidentally ruining your Precious Pakidge   I have a bad habit of using a scalpel to open packages and then the ragrets.

#ToolOfTheDay When you need the job to be ultra precision clean.
#ToolOfTheDay the Dreadnaught File. One of those “rarely needed but you’ll be glad you had it!” tools. Removes non ferrous metal like nothing else.
#ToolOfTheDay: combined drill-tap-chamfer bit. When you only have one hole to tap and you couldn’t be smegged getting out the tap wrench or fitting a tap follower in the mill, there is no tool that will ruin your day faster than popping one of these bad girls in your drill press. For added anguish, use a cordless drill.
#ToolOfTheDay: Campbell’s chicken soup. The ideal quenching medium for Rings of Power.
#ToolOfTheDay Adjustable reamers. You don’t need em very often but when you do they save an asstonne of work. (If you don’t have any, you can make a one off reamer to do the job, but that takes longer).
#ToolOfTheDay Transfer Screws. I’m sure you can buy them but I just make them when i need a set. Put a screw in your cordless drill and run it against the grindstone to grind off the head and make a point. Use a pin vise to hold the pointy end when inserting. When you have a multi-hole fitting (like a motor) to mount to a plate, a set of transfer screws (and a tap with a hammer) will mark all the drilling points in one operation. I marked perfect hole locations for this motor (and then fucked up the drilling, but that was later 😜).
