In the year I was born, the World population was below 3.5 billion. In just my lifetime, that's more than doubled.

The English city where I met my wife, Coventry, has about 450,000 whereas the whole of Tasmania has only about 550,000.

These were just a couple of stats that I became aware of in the past day or two as my road trip round Tasmania comes to an end.
