A DC Studios anunciou o adiamento da data de lançamento de “Cara-de-Barro” (Clayface), próximo filme de terror corporal do Universo DC (DCU) liderado por James Gunn e Peter Safran. Inicialmente previsto para chegar aos cinemas em 11 de setembro de 2026, o longa agora estreia em 23 de outubro de 2026.
A mudança aproxima o lançamento do período do Halloween, considerado estrategicamente mais favorável para um título com forte apelo ao terror.

Dirigido por James Watkins (A Mulher de Preto, Não Fale o Mal), o longa é descrito como um thriller de terror corporal inspirado tanto no clássico “A Mosca” (1986), de David Cronenberg, quanto no icônico episódio Feat of Clay (Perito em Formas Humanas) de Batman: A Série Animada. O roteiro foi escrito por Mike Flanagan (A Maldição da Residência Hill, Missa da Meia-Noite, Doutor Sono), com revisões de Hossein Amini (Drive).
O elenco é liderado por Tom Rhys Harries como Matt Hagen, um ator promissor que, após ter o rosto desfigurado por um gângster, se submete a um experimento da cientista Caitlin Bates (interpretada por Naomi Ackie), CEO de uma start-up de biotecnologia. O tratamento, no entanto, o transforma em uma criatura capaz de remodelar o corpo como argila e assumir múltiplas formas humanas. Max Minghella completa o trio principal como um detetive da polícia de Gotham que desconfia da ligação de sua noiva Bates com Hagen. Eddie Marsen entrou ao elenco interpretando o empresário de Hegan.
O personagem “Cara-de-Barro”, clássico antagonista do Batman, já apareceu em séries animadas, quadrinhos, videogames e outras mídias.
Com orçamento estimado entre US$ 40 milhões e US$ 45 milhões, “Cara-de-Barro” será o terceiro longa do novo DCU, após “Superman” (2025) e “Supergirl” (previsto para junho de 2026).
O filme é produzido por James Gunn e Peter Safran da DC Studios, com Matt Reeves (The Batman) e Lynn Harris pela 6th & Idaho. Chantal Nong Vo e Lars P. Winther atuam como produtores executivos.
“Cara-de-Barro” estreia em 22 de outubro de 2026 nos cinemas brasileiros.
