Huge congratulations to our member Slipwolff EI2KSB, on getting their own amateur radio callsign. 🎉📻

Here they are calling into the @ei0irts News from the club station. It is always great to see more people getting active on the air and joining in with the wider amateur radio community.

We look forward to hearing EI2KSB on the bands plenty more from here on out.

We were out today activating POTA site IE-0228 from the National Botanic Gardens.

It was a lovely Sunday radio outing, and as far as we know it was the first ever POTA activation from the Botanic Gardens.

Thanks to Daniel McDowell EI8ICB and @tdr112 EI7IRB for taking part, and thanks as well to South Dublin Radio Club for their net.

Portable radio, fresh air, and a few nice contacts along the way. Hard to complain about that.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Farset Labs to Tog tomorrow for the first event in our All Island Maker Mobility project.

Farset members will join us for our Repair Café and then stay on for our monthly Open Social Night as we get this new cross-border project underway.

TOG Hackerspace is heading to Shannon on 18 and 19 April for the IRTS AGM Weekend.

We’ll have a table at the Sunday rally where we’ll be showing off projects from the hackerspace and meeting radio friends from around the country.

A few of us also plan to be in Shannon on Friday evening to try our first Bunkers on the Air Ireland activation, with plans to activate B/EI-0151 and B/EI-0152.

We’ve a new 3D printer at TOG Hackerspace, and of course one of the first things we printed was a duck.

A new Prusa Core One L has joined the space thanks to a kind anonymous donation, and we’re already putting it to work.

If you’d like to try 3D printing, drop into our Maker Night every second Monday at 7pm.

Get reading — this month’s Tog Science Fiction Book Club book is Camp Concentration by Thomas M. Disch.

A dark and thought-provoking science fiction novel with plenty to chat about.

We’ll be meeting in person at Tog Hackerspace on Tuesday 28 April at 7:30pm.

Yesterday we were out in Ticknock Forest, IE-0116 for our Easter Monday POTA activation.

Great to get EI0TOG on the air, make plenty of contacts, and enjoy a good day out in the Dublin Mountains.

Thanks to Declan EI9HQ, Paraic EI2LH, Tomasz EI3106, and Jeffrey EI7IRB for taking part.

A nice bit of homebrew radio testing in the space last night.

Daniel EI8ICB was trying out a home-made 4m antenna and made a QSO with EI3IXB, David Gardiner from South Dublin Radio Club.

Always great to see something built by hand getting on air.
