I wasn't home when they wanted to change me to a "smart" meter. I tried to understand why it was needed and eventually politely opted out. The solar panels deliver happily back onto the net through an analog meter. It works fine.

If we ever need local storage in our community, I'm happy to chip in and facilitate the crowd funding.

BUT

I just don't want a hackable, networked piece of electronics controlling a giant battery next to where I sleep. Sounds crazy? #TinFoilHats
