My #WeekinReview in a nutshell: BAKUUCAKAR and BAKU CAKAR.

1. Starting my week with BAKUUCAKAR band, the late Glenn's homeband, stopping by at Indonesian Idol last week. They did not perform Glenn's songs this time but was rather assigned to arrange those #Timuran viral tiktok songs. A kind of song that, in fact, is supposed to be sung by a group of people up to 3-4 but on that last Spekta it was performed by a person.

In short, Indonesian Idol last night failed to capitalize the #Timuran phenomenon/hype. Probably because the creatives of that show seem to ignore #CommunalMentality which has become its very soul; in which those songs are built upon #foundation.

Very very #aboutlastnight banget neh pesanan kopinya. The coffee shop's name pretty much resembles a popular surname in Tulehu, Ambon (curiga ownernya juga ada darah Indo Timur #Timuran 😋). Moreover they sell Iced Coconut Americano as I ordered here #tropicalvibe 🥥

Those phenomenal #Timuran songs, namely from Eastern Indonesian musicians (Papua, Maluku, Nusteng) are just like pizza. They generally are not made for a person's consumption but rather to be enjoyed together, sung in group given their communal mentality unlike those living in big cities such as New York and Jakarta in which self-sufficiency has become a major theme there.

On another note, 3 weeks of upbeat songs challenge, only a few that can be considered as good, competition material worthy.

Pokoknya minggu ini pembahasan kita gak jauh2 dari dua hal, yaitu BAKUUCAKAR dan BAKU CAKAR:

1. BAKUUCAKAR band at Indonesian Idol tonight, honoring the eastern Indonesian culture that gets major spotlight, in other words, starts being noticed by the world lately. Yep that #timuran phenomenon in short

2. BAKU CAKAR di Liga 2 Pegadaian antara klub2 grup TIMUR: PSS, Persipura Jayapura, & Barito Putra w/ 1 point diff each.

Given the #timuran hype lately, I'm pretty sure that somewhere UPthere he is smiling proudly, knowing that the eastern part of Indonesia culture has gained significant attention globally nowadays. In other words, it has earned the spotlight it should deserve a very long time ago.....

Lebih dari sekadar figuran, namun berperan penting dalam menentukan arah angin industri hiburan melalui teknologi yang tengah berkembang......

On another note, it's gonna be another exciting week ahead 🤩😍 Ada dua isu menarique yg bakal jd pembahasan utama di sini:

1. The Bakuucakar band is going to stop by tomorrow night's Idol. Instead of performing the late Glenn's songs there they are apparently tasked with covering #timuran songs viral on Tiktok nowadays 🙃🫠

2. Fenomena BAKU CAKAR (saling "cakar mencakar") di Liga 2 Pegadaian Championship thn ini, yg melibatkan klub2 Grup Timur seperti PSS, Barito, Persipura dg selisih poin @ 1

And I think it would be everyone's ideal script, especially for those who religiously follow that league as much as I do, to see AT LEAST PSS, Persipura Jayapura (aside from the #timuran hype, their performance significantly improving under coach RD), and Garudayaksa, that pres' owned club, competing in the next season of Superleague (Indonesian Liga1, the highest tier of Indonesian football hierarchy).
