Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 909 , Friday 24/04/2026

Friday started early at around 06:45.

I decided that, as the scaffolders are coming later today I would squeeze my gym session in this morning.
I got changed, had a quick cup of tea, filled my water bottle (having learnt that I really need a drink after a training session) & pootled off.

It has to be said there are benefits to getting to the gym around 7ish, little traffic & easy parking!

Had a decent enuf session , although I did meet my first ‘Influencer’ a muscle bound Neanderthal who hogged the best training equipment (not kit that I use yet but the point still stands) just sitting there typing away on his phone for the time it took me to do my 12x3 reps on each of 2 other pieces of kit. (Hey gimme a break on the reps , I’m still a noobie!)
He was well aware that others would avoid him & not challenge him because of his build.
I hat people like that, I really don’t mind if folk are on a piece of kit for a long time, they have their own training regimes which is fine. But sitting on the kit & essentially using it as a glorified armchair is not fair on the other members in the room.

08:50 So me having the car of a Friday lasted all of 2 weeks, “Oh I see you went to the gym early, do you mind if I have the car this afternoon?” I can’t really say no because I have no solid plans for this afternoon, but the beauty of having the car available is that I can do things on the spur of the moment!
Another nail in the coffin. 🙄🤦‍♂️

The scaffolders have been & the kitchen looks like something from out of a prison movie!

Spent the afternoon roaming the galaxy … tried a high risk, high reward mission, ended up in the galactic nick! 11.5k poorer & wiser! Got my surface vehicle blown up under me too!

Pizza for tea - I need to get onto a decent diet soon!

Not a bad day, hopefully the work on the house will all go ok & we can get the decorating sorted next!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 908 , Thursday 23/04/2026

Up just after 7am, made breakfast & did my chores.

Then spent a couple of hours in a not totally successful attempt to clean the paint off the bottom of the backseats of the car.

Did some prep work to enable the scaffolding to go up tomorrow, we’re having to have the exterior walls of the extension re-pointed & also the gutter replaced. We have been meaning to do it for a while as it does need it!

The rest of the day has been mostly chilling out playing on the PS5. There is other stuff to be done but I have neither the motivation nor the energy to do any of it.

Final Thoughts.

Tomorrow & the early part of next week is going to be busy, noisy & dusty!
I’m not looking fwd to any of that!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 907 , Wednesday 22/04/2026

Wednesday started at around 7am.

Got my breakfast then had to take Mrs S for a blood test before dropping her off at work.

Straight to the gym after that & progress was made.

Did my chores when I got home then hit the PS5 this afternoon.

Met Mrs S at around 17:30 at B&Q, we have decided to paint her study rather than put wallpaper up so we returned the rolls I bought last month & got 5 litres of paint. Crucially I didn’t think to put it in a bag or anything.

We decided to go out for tea & ended up at one of our favourite eateries out on the edge of the moors, it was a lovely drive but very twisty & turny & bumpy!

Had a nice meal, bavette steak & chips with a side salad for me, very nice although the steak wasn’t very warm.

We had a nice trip home & got back just after 8pm.
We went to get the paint out, only to find it had tipped & spilt!

There was paint all over the boot, it was everywhere!

Mrs S took on her rabbit in the headlights mode so yours truly spent the next hour & a half cleaning the car. There is still paint on the upholstery but I’m hoping that our little vax will sort that out tomorrow, if not then we will have some nice cream highlights on the back seat!

Final Thoughts.

Sometimes the smallest oversight can ruin a day!

Also my right knee was really not happy coming up the stairs when I finally made it up for a shower & bed. I do wonder if I caused more damage than I thought when my thigh went twang the other week.

Oh well tomorrow is another day, & to be perfectly honest not one I’m looking forward to, I sense much frustration in my immediate future.
