Scottish LassI never understand what TimeMachine is up to. Edit one file next I find TM trying to make a backup of 20GB 🤔 So slow. Part of me wants to know what it's doing, the other is too scared to find out🫣 .

I wonder, if international direct dialling had been invented a few decades earlier would the British Empire have +4, instead of +44 for the UK and random other numbers for the rest? DesertFOXI just set up a fresh Time Machine backup volume for the MacBook Neo on an external USB-C drive. I guess, it won't break any records in 2026, but I'm old enough to appreciate write speeds of over 900MB/s. 😉

If you just move in time; the Earth would have rotated on its axis, moved further along its orbit around the Sun, the Sun would have moved through the galaxy, the whole galaxy would have shifted in its supercluster, and the universe is expanding too.
What would actually be useful is a space-time machine. It would not only let you jump through time, but also decide where to land.
