1- As a youth I picked simple bouquets mostly of the 2 earliest #wildflowers for Mom's birthday + #MothersDay When I moved back and grew spring flowers, the bouquets grew more elaborate; after Mom's passing, they became #spring celebrations of #Life #rebirth the start of the ancient #Latvian season #TimeOfFlowers + the #Baltic #PreIndoEuropean #GreatMother #Goddess It all blends seamlessly, at least in my mind...lol

It seems like the #TimeOfFlowers #season has barely begun and I'm already hopelessly behind on sharing photos! Things move fast at this time of year, new things opening every day or so, previous waves of flowering wrapping up.. These are from 10 days ago, some finished or on the way out.. White Draba dedeana Yellow Draba aizoides and D. bruniifolia ssp olympica. Tulipa urumiensis (or something..) #garden #RockGarden #spring #NaturalGardening #Alberta #Canada #z3
In the #Latvian #pagan tradition, we are now in the #TimeOfFlowers #season and more are popping up in the #garden every day (wild also, but more slowly). The #bees are ready and on the job. Here are some neighbour's #honeybee and tiny #WildBees enjoying the small #flowers of a #Tulip in the #RockGarden. #BloomScrolling #Florespondence #insects #Alberta #Canada

We've just passed #MayDay #Beltane #Ūsiņi in the Latvian tradition- all based on the Cross-quarter day between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice.
In the Latvian division of the year, this marks the beginning of the #TimeOfFlowers
#bees #flowers #greening of the land ++ are associated with this time. I have a blog post with pics + vids of bees, flowers etc and link to another post about the roots of the Latvian celebration.
