Note to self. #TILT Thing I Learned Today

convert #linux man pages into a pdf document.
It could not be easier:-)

example: from the command line;
get the man pages for the logrotate command.

man -Tpdf logrotate > logrotate.pdf

I've done this before but keep forgetting the incantation. The magic is the -Tpdf option to the man command.

#TILT rounding error

When cropping images for #shotcut:

#darktable will crop images to a specified aspect ratio, say 16:9, but it doesn't adjust to an integer number of pixels.

This causes problems in shotcut. This rounding error will cause alignment issues when using the size-position-rotate filter.

image 4565x2568; resize to 960x540 and position at 0,0 will be off by 1 pixel.

image 4544x2556; will be perfect.
its exactly 284x(16:9)

an operational anomaly in darktable or shotcut.
