Take it from conservative national security experts: Trump is unfit
Four-times-indicted former president Donald Trump’s terrifying plans to assume dictatorial powers
(and try for a third term),
deploy the military against civil protesters,
create a massive police state to carry out mass deportations
and use federal power to exact revenge on his opponents
🔸should be enough to convince voters that his election would be a disaster for the United States domestically.
However, returning him to the position of commander in chief and “leader of the free world” is just as scary on a global front.
Don’t take it from me;
just listen to two former senior Republican national security experts.
Former national security adviser John #Bolton recently told Jordan Klepper of “The Daily Show” that his former boss
“doesn’t understand alliances.”
Bolton opined that Ronald Reagan would be “appalled” by the MAGA Republican Party, and added that Trump has a “fascination with authoritarian leaders.”
Bolton also concurred with former secretary of state Rex #Tillerson’s description of Trump as a “f---ing moron,”
though Bolton refrained from using the expletive.
(Klepper taunted Bolton for, after all that, saying he would vote for neither President Biden or Trump.
“Great. So, in the race between a current president and a former president, it looks like the winner will be the Russian president.”) Bolton has previously said of Trump: “He’s fundamentally ignorant, and he really doesn’t care about the facts.
He thinks international relations are about personal relations, which is a line and approach that I can tell you, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are eagerly looking forward to.”
Trump’s ignorance and overweening narcissism make him easy pickings for manipulative dictators.
(Trump came to regard North Korea’s Kim Jong Un as a friend because he sent “love letters.” He turned over foreign signals intelligence to Russians in the Oval Office.)
He is, in other words, a #patsy for strongmen whose object is to weaken the United States.
Trump declared that he would invite Putin to invade NATO countries that didn’t contribute sufficiently to the alliance’s collective defense.
(He continues to misunderstand how NATO forces are funded.)
His well-known hostility toward European allies and threats to ditch NATO should indicate to any voter concerned about national security that Trump’s return to office would spell #disaster for international peace and stability.

If any Republican minds are to be changed, it matters not what #Pelosi says about #Trump.
They are more likely to be influenced by Mike #Pence, Mike #Milley, Bill #Barr, Rex #Tillerson, Chris #Christie, Anthoney #Scaramucci, Mark #Esper...and on and on.
The media continues to discuss #Trump’s #criminal #indictments, and is — finally! — noticing that Trump is becoming less and less #coherent.
But why isn’t it reporting on something almost every lawmaker and journalist in official Washington knows
— that Trump is remarkably #stupid?
I don’t mean just run-of-the-mill stupid.
I mean extraordinarily, off-the-charts, #stupifyingly #stupid.
After all, he recently claimed that magnets don’t work in water, that the Civil War was unnecessary because it should have been “negotiated,” and that no one would know who Lincoln was if he hadn’t gone to war.
Still don’t believe Trump is stupid?
Consider the views of the people who worked most closely with him during his presidency.
Anyone remember when Secretary of State #Rex #Tillerson called Trump a “f—king #moron?”
Or when National Security Adviser #H.R. #McMaster called him a “#dope?”
And Treasury Secretary #Steve #Mnuchin, former White House Chief of Staff #Reince #Priebus, former White House Chief of Staff }John #Kelly, and even #Rupert #Murdoch all referred to Trump as an “#idiot?”
(Technically, Murdoch called him a “f—king idiot.”)

>> The oil deals could supercharge both companies' outsized political power.
The companies already have a great deal of political power.
Don't forget that #Trump appointed chairman of #Exxon, Rex #Tillerson, as his Secretary of State. Prior to his appointment by Trump, Tillerson made business deals with #Russia on behalf of Exxon. After his appointment, he opposed US #sanctions against Russia. Halfway through his term Trump fired Tillerson on soured relations.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democratic senators are urging federal regulators to investigate multibillion-dollar acquisitions by oil giants ExxonMobil and Chevron, saying the deals could lead to higher prices at the gas pump. In a letter Wednesday to the Federal Trade Commission, the lawmakers said Exxon’s proposed $60 billion acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resources and Chevron’s proposed $53 billion purchase of Hess Corp. are two of the largest petroleum deals in U.S. history and could violate antitrust law. Exxon said its deal would promote U.S. energy independence and lower planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions, while Chevron said its merge would strengthen the company's long-term performance.

Fracking? Ja!
