Today, in inhospitable #weather and after a sleepless night for me, walking was minimal. We did drive out to the lovely country near #Tillamook and put our feet on the ground for a few steps at Cape Lookout and Cape Meares, where a sleeping #lighthouse stands, supposedly one of only two in the world that are eight-sided. Yesterday was #Advent4 and I preached on #Love. Started with the vast variety….. I love: my wife, the church, #Tillamook ice cream, watching the Dallas Cowboys lose, pizza, my daughter.

After service a parishioner asked, “What kind of dog do you have?”
“I don’t.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. When did it die?”
“What?”
“Didn’t you say you loved your dog?”
“My daughter.”
“Oh …. I need to get these hearing aids checked.”

#Tillamook just responded to my inquiry about why their kosher medium cheddar got bad. Of course, they were unwilling or unable to admit that they've changed anything about how they are making the cheese (par for the course when a company changes a product for the worse). They tried to blame it on a single batch, even though I told them we had observed the degradation over a prolonged period in cheese purchased at different times.
I guess we won't be buying it anymore.

This is a long-shot, but perhaps I'll find kindred spirits…
My son, a picky eater, used to eat a _lot_ of #TIllamook kosher medium cheddar which we bought many bars at a time from #TraderJoes.
A couple months ago he told us they'd ruined it and he couldn't eat it anymore.
I just got around to tasting it to see what he was talking about, and lord, he's right.
The texture of the cheese is terrible now, totally rubbery.
Anybody else notice this? Any thoughts about why?
