This bums me out and it's so true. I bought tickets to a popular touring artist (but not Swift / Beyonce level) playing a football stadium and getting seats that were not in the 300 level nose bleeds was $250 a pop. And that was the on sale price, not even the secondary market!

Just checked the secondary market and the same section I have is going for double what I paid.

I would like to go on the record and once again reiterate that Ticketmaster is a HORRIBLE company (I know, I'm preaching to the choir here).

They just blocked my entire network because I guess signing in early for ticket pre-sale is now considered "unusual behavior". Never had this issue before.

Fuck 'em.

That being said, I want to give many, MANY sincere thanks to @logickal for saving the day. You're the best! I will be seeing Sunn O))) in April after all!

A couple months ago, I bought tickets to an #EDM show (#Showtek is playing at a local venue) that's happening this coming Friday. Unfortunately, since buying those tickets, my wife had foot-surgery added to the schedule. That surgery is tomorrow. Obviously, she won't be in any condition to dance the day immediately following foot surgery.

While we'd tried to find somebody to go in her stead, all avenues failed. So, I sold the ticket back to #TicketBastard …for about half the face-value.

Today, I get an email saying that I need to provide tax information so they can report the "income". This "income" is well below the IRS reporting-requirements (not like I had sold back Taylor Swift tickets, yo). But, if I actually want the money from selling that ticket back, I have to give them my reporting information.

Shit like this, right here, is why people hate #TicketBastard.

So, I can either accept an "instant offer" — that's less than half the price I paid for my ticket — or I can price my extra ticket higher than the priced I paid for the ticket.

That I have an extra ticket to sell is because I bought the tickets when they first became available, but then, several weeks later, my wife ended up having foot surgery scheduled for the day before the event.

Speaking of #TicketBastard:

I've been to one event, already, this year, that wasn't ticketed through them: was ticketed through #EventTim.

Going to a show next month — a foam party (what a throwback to my 20s that is) that's also ticketed through EventTim.

And I just bought tickets to an October [show]() that's ticketed through ShotGun.

So, maybe #TicketMaster's finally starting to lose some of the stranglehold they have on this area? I mean, before #Echostage and #Soundcheck were bought by #Insomniac (who long ago sold a significant stake to #LiveNation, events there), ticketing was only very occasionally through TicketBastard. Frequently, tickets were sold through #EventBrite, #TicketFairy and a few others. Nice to see that other venues are trying to break away and don't seem to be losing the ability to book artists because of it?

I used to travel for a living. Occasionally, I got sent out to Silicon Valley for gigs. If my visits were during Sharks' home-stands, I'd usually try to get tickets. My wife was/is a #Sharks fan and I'd use it as an excuse to pick her up team paraphernalia.

…But I left that job in June of 2009. Even so, I think my last trip to San Jose was a year or two before that job ended.

This is the first time #TicketBastard has emailed me about buying #Sharks tickets in a number of years. Pretty sure I asked to be unsubscribed from Sharks-related mailings back in 2010, possibly 2009. Really not sure why they're mailing me about Sharks home-games, again? Gonna guess they re-injected an (really fucking) old subscriber list or something?
