Over the past month or so I've repurchased four books from my (let's call it...) youth. I have lost a lot of stuff from my childhood home and while I can't replace everything, I do like that I can some things.

In this case, the items are actually upgrades.

Picked up hardback copies of #StephenKing ,errr #PeterStraub (ha) #TheTalisman and #TheBlackHouse. Also grabbed hardbacks of #CliveBarker #WeaveWorld and #Imajica. (I've also got autographed copies of #Everville and #TheGreatAndSecretShow, but those were picked up years ago)

I've read them all in paperback way, way back in the day, but I like the security of hardback.

All I know is, I'm gonna be pissed if Amazon ever buys #ThriftBooks.

Just discovered what I hope is going to be a treat for Husband's birthday in a couple weeks: all four #DrPhibes books by #WilliamGoldstein, the fellow who co-wrote the first movie, #TheAbominableDrPhibes, one of his favorites. Found them at a good price on #ThriftBooks.

Probably from a library , original 1971 edition (published two years before I was born!) and one of the very good (?best) and clear books written on the topic of #linearmodels

In other news your I never finished your old Grammar Devotional because an ebook was the wrong format for me for this book. I went to #Thriftbooks for an old copy. I know… someday I'll buy the new one…

Just finished Cory Doctorow’s Enshittification in 3 sittings. Definitely a great page turner, and if you’re a fan of the fediverse, this is the book for you. The only reason it took so long to read is the local library’s got a long waiting list for the book, even though it’s a 2 week loan. I finally got tired of waiting and bought it from Thriftbooks, a place where I buy used books normally.
Can’t say I disagree with any part of the book, I’m a believer in the points to book makes, deconstructing corporate power, and enabling labor power. #Enshittification #thriftbooks
