I’m Still a Kid

What’s up with this ONE that WordPress is so obsessed with? I get it, I’m hooked on the number three.

Daily writing prompt What’s a thing you were completely obsessed with as a kid? ✅ View all responses

First off what defines a kid? I know people that still feel like a kid that are older than I am, although that is getting rare. As a kid? Let’s say ten years old is still a kid. You expect us to pick one thing? I think maybe one thing a year would still be an injustice to our memories.

Cleaning the icing bowl when mom made a cake, not washing it but licking up the last of it, yummy. Riding a bicycle after an unfortunate accident briefly stopped me from learning how. Cartoons, I mean who didn’t obsess with waiting to see Foghorn Leghorn or The Banana Splits on Saturday morning? Being outside from early in the morning until the streetlights came on at night which was the universal alarm to head for home.

And let’s not forget ‘Pam’ the girl I silently had a crush on forever who thought I was a POS because of my psoriasis. At 68 I still feel like a kid at heart somedays. Enough of all this, I could ramble on all day so again one is an unreasonable answer! On to the next.

Round #88: ✅✅

1. What’s the most unhinged thing you believed as a kid?

2. What tiny joy do you guard like a dragon?

3. What’s the craziest thing you’d name a pet on impulse?

A1 – I loved Kymber’s answer to this one 😂Mine was being crushed by boulders in my sleep.

A2 – I’ll breath fire down upon you if you handle my vinyl with carelessness.

A3 – I think it all depends on the pet and how I came about owning it.

Psychologists identified three infant temperament types in the 1950s that still predict adult personality with uncomfortable accuracy — and the one labeled "difficult" turned out to be the most interesting

Some children are labeled difficult before they can speak — and it turns out that label was hiding the most interesting thing about them.
