I'm slightly terrified to announce that I will be giving an online "Thread Talk" for the Embroiderers Guild on June 3.

I'm going to talk about the various ways I've developed over the years to help get my ideas "From an Inkling To A Stitch", with examples (probably!) from among the #DreamsOFAmarna, the #MedievalMoversAndShakers, and anything else that helps demonstrate how I tell stories in stitch.

Tickets are available via Eventbrite, and also provide for access to the recording for six weeks after the event.

Fun fact:
#ThreadTalk
didn't entirely go away. I have over 30 "dresses of the week" and lots of other
#fashionhistory
musings over on my Patreon.

And when I do a BIG thread, I always save some of the best for my subscribers. This week is an absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous bodice from 1761.

In my latest for @skiffyandfanty I interview @natania about her latest book, Netherford Hall, a queer Regency-style romance fantasy. We also touch on #ThreadTalk and other topics. Please have a look!
"... It is *thrilling* to write. I love watching characters fall in love and question their own selves, and grow into something new. The best relationships can do that. ..."

Bewitching! Spellbinding! I am here for all the puns, intentional or not.

Readers are particularly enjoying the fashion! And that makes sense, of course, since this is the book that inspired #ThreadTalk in the first place.

The #ThreadTalk post from this week is a perfect example of my #fashion #history mantra: question beauty relentlessly.

A look behind a golden yellow muslin gown and the truth of plantation life for one of Maryland's most (in)famous families.

#ThreadTalk is live for patrons! Today we take a look into embroidered waistcoats, and I bemoan the loss of creative fashion whilst waxing philosophic on Oscar Wilde.

#ThreadTalk is up for today. A bit of discourse on Agnès Sorel and her infamous breast. But is her reputation deserved, or was there more to this official mistress?
