Thousand Islands: An Ancient Granite Bridge

Thousand Islands National Park is situated on the Frontenac Arch, a geological feature much older than the islands themselves. This ridge of ancient granite connects the Canadian Shield to the Adirondack Mountains in the US. More and more signs that Canadians 🇨🇦 are reducing travel to the USA. It has reached the Adirondacks, but not the Thousand Islands region.

According 2 #RCMP, driver arrived @ #ThousandIslands border crossing near #Lansdowne, Ont. Aug 24, but claimed he'd taken wrong turn, blaming his GPS. #CBSA offcrs searched vehicle, found a loaded & readied 9mm pistol hidden in the stereo & 3 grams of #methamphetamines.
