Before moving on to Frieren, I finished #ThisMonsterWantsToEatMe.

If I were to review it, I would list a bunch of flaws like character development looking more promising than it turns out to be, pacing being off in the last third, seemingly starting strong in general, then falling flat.

Then I would recommend it for its uniqueness.

The ending may seem unsatisfying. But that's how it had to be. The longer you think about it, the stronger it gets.

Don't watch if you consider killing yourself.

I'm three episodes from finishing #ThisMonsterWantsToEatMe and as it stands right now I am siding with the crazy mermaid who constantly kills everyone.

"This Monster Wants to Eat Me"

This is one strange anime. First of all, it’s very depressing, so be warned if you’re sensitive to the topic…

The penultimate episode. And honestly, it didn't mount too much.

Promise made by Shiori, it felt like it's still a lie.

Miko getting jelly over that supposed "kiss" is quite funny.

I really feel bad for Hinako. She suffers from survivors' guilt and pretty bad one at that. The difference between the happy, radiating bubbly, cheerful Hinako as a child

To the sombre, depressed, suicidal, survivor guilt ridden

is stark, the show has made it abundantly clear as it focuses on the picture of Hinako and her family. I do like how Miko tells Shiori to actually talk to her not at her
