#ThisIsAustralia The mighty Murray River at Mildura, Victoria. The largest river in Australia and, at this point, very flat. Here the river is around 50 m above sea level, but it still has nearly 800 km to go to reach the ocean. The eagle-eyed will notice the post in the immediate foreground. This is a boundary marker between the states of Victoria and New South Wales. By a quirk of British colonial politics in the 1850’s, the border was set as the *southern* side of the river. I took the picture from Victoria, but technically the jetty is in New South Wales…
