I’m deeply interested in #medieval #church #stone #sculpture that brings outside #nature inside. Early exposure to the incomparable #ThirteenthCentury ‘Leaves’ of Southwell Minster’s Chapter House (https://www.southwellminster.org/theme/leaves-of-southwell/) might explain the obsession. Long story short, thus inspired, here’s my attempt to combine the two. I ❤️ the way the thistle populates the door’s contours. & I ❤️ how the thistle’s radial stems accentuate the semi-circular #Romanesque arch.
