Ah, the uplifting joy in the laughter punctuating cookie baking, tree decorating, and festive dinners, and the lyrical lilt of carols and the sweet voices in childrenβs pageants. But the moments of quiet joy are also precious: a hug or email or shared cup of coffee with a friend who is grieving, receiving a card or text from an old friend, or watching the snow fall or the sun rise over the icy horizon. The joy of the Christ Child meets us where we are, in the blue Christmases as well as those more merry and bright.

On Sunday, December 17, 2013, we celebrated the third Sunday of Advent together. We sang Christmas carols in praise to God, lit the advent candle, heard a Children's sermon on the Shepherds, and were taught a sermon by Pastor Don Beachy on Luke 2:1-20 titled "The Real Mary: Woman of Danger".
