Okay, my leftist friends... I have been, ideologically, a devout socialist my entire adult life. I have lived in an avowedly socialist country, Vietnam, for 20+ years. And while I feel for your despair, I am starting to feel your impossible demand for the immediate and complete eradication of capitalism is a refuge you embrace in order to indulge in paralytic smugness. I'm sorry to say that we aren't going to achieve world socialism anytime soon.

Calling a synchronous API instead of an asynchronous one is like making a phone call instead of sending a text message. It will work much of the time, and has 1 or 2 advantages, but when it doesn't work, it requires special processes to recover from, or the task just falls out of scope and is forgotten.
