The latest from @smbmathbiology.bsky.social #BiologyInNumbers: @math.onco's own Ranjini Bhattacharya, working with Joel Brown to study the role of #tumor cell-cell interactions in the context of #metabolism with #TheoreticalBiology #MathOnco
As well as her research I was impressed by @pbiwan's questions and Ranjini's focus on science policy as complement to science #outreach and #scicomm
Updated Chapter 7 of my #EvolutionarySystems and Bio-Inspired Computing course: Modeling Evolutionary Systems. This is the last chapter for this year's course.

Updated Chapter 6 of my #EvolutionarySystems and Bio-Inspired Computing course: #VonNeumann and Natural Selection. #SelfReproduction #SelfReplication #Evolution #complexity #ArtifialLife #TheoreticalBiology
A friend sent me this yesterday:
"Mapping Theories of Life into Cell Biochemistry - An interview with Jannie Hofmeyr
Part II: The Self-Manufacturing Cell"
I'm glad that I have such a friend!
I need papers on rules how trees grow. Things like ratio from branch to subbranch in lengths and positions on the parent branch. Or that needle trees don't tend to split into even subranches. Also their angles etc.
Basically rules to use in Lindenmeyer Systems to make plausible trees.
I want to make an open source speedtree alternative.
