More #Theatricalia from 1977 #Edinburgh #FringeFestival : two productions I was involved in as part of the backstage team, led by the late Ian Larkin.

Our theatre was the dance hall above the cateen at the bus depot on Annandale St. We built a 300 seat auditorium, stage & lighting/sound tower from 20 tons of scaffolding.

Posters were designed by Charles Maude (brother of Sir Francis). Charles, who died of AIDS long ago, also designed the stage & sets.

Will add more as a🧵 @dracos

Massive distraction this evening, as I found this old theatre programme, so spent an hour or so adding it to Theatricalia. My appearance fee was Half-a-Guinea a performance (10/6, it was pre-decimalisation): presumably Equity rates at the time. Also needed a medical check as we were child labour.

I think that I did sort of meet Ned Sherrin at the Press Night party, but it's a long time ago.
