One of Boris Karloff's favourite roles was playing Jonathan Brewster in the dark comedy play "Arsenic and Old Lace," a criminal who is horrified that plastic surgery has made him look like Karloff. Sadly, Karloff couldn't play Jonathan in the movie adaptation. Instead, Raymond Massey got the movie role.
