Some people like to pretend they are still following the plot and they know exactly what each act symbolises. Others realise there is no plot, and are just waiting for the comedy moments, knowing the damn thing has got to end sooner or later.
Putin has just described Prighozin as a "criminal scammer" and managed to keep a straight face.
In a statement this morning Russia’s defence ministry said that they had been “deceived and dragged into a criminal adventure”
It's not clear whether they are referring specifically to Wagner boss Yevgeny Prighozin, or just generally describing the last 25 years of Russian history.
And if you are looking at unconfirmed reports from Russia and wondering whether or not you should speculate on something that might or might not be true, you definitely should.
